In August, Mounjaro will be available for the Dutch market at Elysee and StopOvergewicht, alongside the already available Ozempic and Wegovy. In this article you will find more information about Mounjaro.
The differences between Mounjaro and Ozempic/Wegovy
The main difference between Mounjaro and the other medications is the active ingredient. Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, while Ozempic and Wegovy contain semaglutide. Tirzepatide, a dual incretin agonist, acts on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, contributing to greater effectiveness in weight loss compared to semaglutide, which only acts on GLP-1 receptors.
Why choose Mounjaro?
Studies have shown that tirzepatide is significantly more effective in promoting weight loss. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, participants lost an average of 17.8% of their body weight using tirzepatide, compared to 12.4% with semaglutide in the STEP-1 trial

Price difference
Mounjaro is more effective than Wegovy but also more expensive. We recommend considering all options and choosing the best one for your needs and budget.
